Arlington Walmart worker, 18, charged with theft

ARLINGTON — An 18-year-old Arlington woman reportedly started stealing from the Walmart where she worked Dec. 12 with a Pepsi and $20, but by Dec. 18 she had allegedly stolen $5,600 in cash and merchandise.

The employee working the night shift then took gift cards of $75 from Google and $165 for a PlayStation, police reports say. Court papers say days later she put hundreds of dollars onto her debit card throughout multiple transactions. She did that again two days later.

Her last transaction, for another $500, came two days after that, according to the documents.

That night, an employee called Arlington police and said he was firing her for stealing.

She was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree theft.
