Girl rescued from river in critical condition

ARLINGTON – A 16-year-old girl was being transported to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett in critical condition after being rescued from the river at Twin Rivers Park. Around 2:20 p.m. a call was made to 9-1-1 that there was a person in the river.

Bystanders pulled her from the river bottom and started CPR.

It was reported that she had been under water for approximately three minutes. Arlington fire and EMS personnel arrived and took over life-saving efforts, placing her on a backboard and floating her to the other side of the river to an aid car.

The girl was at the park with other teens.
