MARYSVILLE – Police are looking for a gold 2002 Mercury Sable involved in a hit-and-run Oct. 10.

The vehicle struck a Marysville girl who was riding her bicycle in a crosswalk.

The girl, who was with family at the time, was hit around 7 p.m. crossing 64th Street at Highway 528.

The girl was knocked off of her bicycle and suffered some minor abrasions and bruising to her face and right leg, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoreux said in a news release.

A witness followed the suspect vehicle and obtained a description of the car and the license plate number. The car was registered to a Redmond address. Redmond officers checked the address. The owner of the Redmond property advised Marysville officers that the owner of the vehicle had recently been evicted.

The girl was transported by aid car to a local hospital for precautionary measures.

“This collision is precisely why people should be wearing helmets,” Marysville Sgt. Adam Vermeulen said. “This young girl was, and it is very likely much more-serious injuries were prevented.”
