M’ville Goodwill Job Center to close in June

MARYSVILLE – The Marysville Goodwill Job Training and Education Center will close June 30.

Also closing are ones in Shoreline, Burien and Silverdale.

The final session of classes will take place March 19 to May 10. The center will continue helping students with referrals, job readiness and case management services in Marysville through June 15, on an appointment-only basis.

Center manager Tania Siler said she and some other staff will be transferring to the Goodwill Snohomish County Job Training and Education Center at 210 SW Everett Mall Way, Suite D Everett. The regular eight-week-long courses and various workshops will be held there May 29-July 19.

“We understand that students may have difficulty accessing services at our remaining Job Training and Education Centers due to distance and transportation, therefore we are in the process of compiling resources in North Snohomish County and the Marysville/Arlington area to refer our students to,” Siler said in an email.

Other centers will be staying open in Seattle, Bellingham, Bremerton and Mount Vernon.

“The decision to close these centers was not easy, and while this is a difficult time for all of us, we do hope to continue our mission of providing support and work on eliminating barriers to employment,” Siler said.
