Drivers should plan ahead for overnight lane closures on both directions of I-5 near Marysville and Arlington this week. Crews working on the I-5 Marysville median barrier project and the I-5/SR 531 interchange project will close lanes on I-5 Tuesday through Thursday nights.

ARLINGTON — Authorities closed down a section of I-5 to investigate a possible bomb threat only to find out that it was coffee.
The interstate was closed near the SR 532 exit near Stanwood just before noon on Wednesday, June 30, after a 19-year-old man pulled off the road to report that he had had found a container in his car that he thought might be an explosive, said Trooper Keith Leary of the Washington State Patrol.
Washington State Patrol bomb technicians responded to the incident but found that the threat was a coffee container.
Leary said that the man said he had a history of leaving his car open and was concerned about the container.
Washington State Patrol Incident Response also responded to the scene. All lanes of northbound I-5, as well as the exit, are now open.
ARLINGTON — A robbery investigation has led to a drug bust and the arrest of two Arlington residents.
A 21-year-old and a 17-year-old, both men, are being held on second-degree robbery charges after detectives identified the two individuals as suspects in a reported robbery and assault that took place just before 8:30 p.m. on the 3300 block of 185th Place NE in Arlington.
A 19-year-old male reported that his wallet, as well as more than $360, was taken, authorities said.
On Tuesday, June 29, detectives served a search warrant in the 400 block on South Olympic Avenue, where authorities found the 19-year-old victim’s wallet.
Dog licensing fees are jumping up on Arlington residents.
