MARYSVILLE – Funtastic Carnival is going to put the “fun” back in its name.

Sunday, starting at 1 p.m., rides or games will only cost six for $16, no limit.

Many visitors to the Marysville Strawberry Festival midway at Marysville Middle School thought that was the deal they were getting Thursday.

So being asked to pay $37 for a wristband for unlimited rides left a sour taste in their mouths.

A few hundred people complained online on social media. Arthur Maldonado of Maryfest, the volunteer organization that puts on the festival each year, said Friday the sweet deal for the carnival will now take place Sunday.

There was no explanation about what caused the misunderstanding.
