LAKE GOODWIN — Last summer’s inconvenience will lead to years of improved fun at Wenberg Park on Lake Goodwin.

The park was closed for $3 million in fixes, including a new launch that can handle two boats at a time. A new dock that is more friendly for people with disabilities surrounds the swimming area. There’s also a concrete ramp and metal railing leading into the water, allowing them to enjoy the lake.

Boats can tie up to two floating docks. Other improvements include two floating docks for boat tie-ups, walking trails, erosion control and the road to the launch was reconfigured for easier vehicle access.

The county is still looking for a concessionaire to run the food counter.
