Woman rescued after falling down up to 200-foot ravine

ARLINGTON – Arlington and Silvana fire units helped with the rescue of a 22-year-old woman Sunday who had fallen down a 100-200 foot ravine.

Sno-Hawk 10 rescued the woman just prior to darkness. She was flown to Twin Rivers County Park near Arlington; an aid crew transported her to the hospital.

The woman was wearing a helmet, but hit numerous rocks during the fall. She complained of dizziness and nausea. She broke a hand. The call for help was made by her hiking partner, who had to walk some distance to obtain cell service.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit at about 7:45 p.m. on July 2 received the 9-1-1 call.

The location was “Exfoliation Dome” off Fire Service Road 2060 outside of Darrington, off the Mountain Loop Highway.

Arlington, Arlington Heights, Silvana and Oso fire units responded.
