Chamber of Commerce looking for businesses with stories
by Deb Loughrey-Johnson
5800 64th St. NE, Marysville
Im looking for 100 reasons to celebrate the Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber marks its 100-year anniversary in 2008 and this calls for a celebration.
If anyone in the Marysville-Tulalip area has a story to share about his or her business successes, Id love to hear from you. If you have gained business due to the economic prosperity of this region, I want to hear from you. If you have owned a business in the past 100 years, I need your story.
Whether you are still in business or retired from one in this area, please call me at Grandview Village at 360-653-2223 or E-mail me at email@example.com. I will make an appointment to visit with you and document your story.
History repeats itself in good and bad ways. The Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce wants learn about the exceptional stories. Several records have been lost and so now we need to rebuild our past and prepare for the future. The Centennial Celebrations will go on for the rest of 2008 and there will be an opportunity to toast the Marysville Tulalip Chamber on Dec. 4, 2008.
In the meantime, there is a goal in mind and that is to take the Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce to the next millennium. Pledges need to be made and technology needs to be improved to support this fine non-profit organization. I am asking businesses to step up to the plate and help the Chamber continue to grow and connect businesses and ensure economic growth. I am also requesting that if you are a business owner in the Marysville Tulalip area and you are not a member, please join now. This excellent Chamber has a President/CEO that works extremely hard for the members and community to make the Marysville Tulalip a unique area with Military Friendly Employers. I applaud Caldie Rogers for the tremendous work she and her staff have done with very little capital and very old equipment.
Please join me in my search for stories about your business or family businesses since 1908 through to the current time period. Whether your business is one year old or one hundred years old, I want to salute you. Please tell me how the Chamber has helped you and celebrate with all of us on Dec. 4. I am the chairperson for this Centennial Celebration Committee and I need your help. Thank you all.
