The Board of Directors of the Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce has voted to endorse the Arlington EMS Levy on the April 26 ballot.

Without question, the board has fully embraced the need for this vital service for the entire community, including not only the residents but the business community as well. With such a large industrial base where workplace accidents can sometimes happen, having paramedics in our community can save lives and minimize injury.

The EMS levy will renew the existing tax and make it permanent, which will save approximately $25,000 every six years in election costs. The current levy is set to expire on Dec. 31, 2011.

Without EMS in our community, medical care will no longer exist in a timely manner. The Board of Directors strongly encourages you, the residents and businesses of Arlington, to support the EMS levy. Vote.
