Endorsed by police chiefs and sheriffs
August 27, 2008 · Updated 8:12 PM
Tom Greene is endorsed by police chiefs and sheriffs because he has worked his way to earn all of the skill sets to run a large police agency. Nearly every agency leader has the same set of academic and professional credentials plus experience base. Tom is the only candidate who has earned these and the only candidate that the public does not have to train for four years to be sheriff.
Policing is extremely complex, technical and can cost the taxpayers dearly when a preventable bad decision is made. Running an agency is no place for the well intentioned but ill prepared. It is not a place to run a popularity contest. The other two candidates would not likely even earn an interview to be a police chief, so lets not lower our selection standards for sheriff.
I have been a police chief in this county for 11 years plus worked with Tom for another 12 years inside the sheriffs office. Everything he has done in his life has prepared him for this office. Whether you live in a city or in the unincorporated county, you have a voice in who is Sheriff. Please vote for Tom Greene because he can start work at full speed from the first day, has the track history of being successful and is ready and willing to partner with all the police chiefs to make this county safer.
