A candidate of strong character
October 14, 2008 · Updated 2:30 PM
There are many reasons to support Liz Loomis in her run for State Representative. Take her experiences as a small business owner, a city council-member, a mayor, or a freshman representative in the state legislature. Or look at her plans for improving both the quality of life for our families and the rate of success for small businesses and their employees.
But I’ve always voted for people on strength of character, not on my experience or issue. So as many qualifications as Liz may have for the job as my representative, they are not my reasons for supporting her.
I’m voting for Liz because of the unassuming sincerity with which i have seen her treat those around her. She’s not running for representative because it’s the next step up the ladder — she’s running because of what she can offer the good of her community.
Liz possesses real understanding of the needs of the people in her district and stands firm when it comes to protecting their best interests. She has earned my vote because she takes the high road at ever turn, and I continue to find her to be a candidate truly of sound character.
