What would our schools be like if there were no secretaries, para-educators, bus drivers, custodians, maintenance workers, cafeteria workers, payroll/accountants or other support staff? The answer is simple, our schools would not function. During the week of March 9-13 Lakewood School District joins other districts across Washington state to celebrate Classified School Employees Week.

Classified school employees are involved in nearly every aspect of education, including transporting our students, serving nourishing meals, assisting in classrooms, managing the offices and keeping our buildings and equipment safe, clean and operational. These dedicated individuals have earned recognition for the outstanding work they do at Lakewood School District.

We would like to thank our classified employees for all they achieve and encourage you to do the same. We know how vital they are to our student’s success.
