Dwayne Lane offers golfers a chance to win a car at the Aug. 26 Arlington Open
ARLINGTON — Skilled or lucky golfers will have a chance to win at car at the second annual Arlington Open golf tournament on Friday, Aug. 26.
Dwayne Lane Chevrolet in Arlington has agreed to give a car to the first person to sink a hole-in-one in the 165-yard hole no. 3 at Gleneagle Golf Course.
The golf tournament is a fundraiser for entryway signs for the city of Arlington, and 25 percent of the proceeds will support Kids' Kloset to provide clothing and other basic needs for youth in North Snohomish County.
The tournament starts at noon, rain or shine, with a shotgun start, best ball format, putting contest, followed by a summer buffet dinner in the Gleneagle Clubhouse and lots of raffle prizes.
The tournament is presented by the Arlington Arts Council in partnership with the city of Arlington for funds to continue the community's effort to install entryway signs at every major entry into the city.
The hope is to install the second sign at a location in Smokey Point, off I-5 Exit 206.
Advanced registration will help the organizers book the correct number of diners at the Gleneagle Country Club.
Registration forms are available at Arlington City Hall, located at 238 N. Olympic Ave. in downtown Arlington.
For registration information, call the city Permit Department at 360-403-3551.
