Lady Eagles head to district title game

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — The Lady Eagles basketball team clinched another important victory on Saturday, Feb. 9, when they topped the Snohomish Panthers 45-26 in the Wesco 4A District 1 semifinal game at Mountlake Terrace High School.

The Eagles managed to gain an 8-4 lead in the first quarter and kept that lead throughout the game, scoring 11 points in the second quarter to Snohomish's seven, a 19-11 halftime score.

Snohomish followed close behind in the third quarter, but never made up the point differential, and when the Eagles scored 17 points in the fourth quarter, the Panthers couldn't keep up.

Senior Krista Showalter scored eight points, while Taylor Graham, Jayla Russ and Lyndsay Leatherman each scored seven. Lindsay Brown and Jessica Ludwig scored six points each, while Winter Brown and Marissa Swegle each scored two points.

The girls will face Lynnwood at Mountlake Terrace High School at 8 p.m. for the District 1 Championship game. Both teams will compete in the 4A Regional Tournament starting on Feb. 22.
