Eagle Wrestlers head to state

SNOHOMISH - Four Arlington wrestlers made it into the top of their weight class at the Wesco 4A Regional Tournament at Snohomish High School on Feb. 8-9, qualifying them for the State 4A Wrestling Tournament at the Tacoma Dome on Feb. 15-16.
Freshman Jeremy Nygard qualified for state in the 106 pound weight class after topping Yelm's Jacob Nolan 11-0, Edmonds-Woodway's Gabe Baltazar 14-4 and then Snohomish's Wyatt Butler 10-3 to take third place.
Junior Bryce Thomas took second place in the 132 pound weight class. He beat out Sean Lutovsky of South Kitsap 10-1, and then pinned Yelm's Tanner Page in 1:15.
Junior Conner Gonzales will be making his third trip to the state tournament, this year at the 138 pound weight class. Gonzales pinned Bellermine Prep's Nicholas Swaab in 3:15 and then pinned South Kitsap's Adam Lutovsky in 4:30.
Junior Jake Ferro took fourth place in the 182 pound weight class. He beat Spencer Schultz of Edmonds-Woodway 17-2 and then Snohomish's Justin Kearney 8-7.
The wrestlers will head to the Tacoma Dome at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 15 for the first day of the state tournament.
