ARLINGTON — The Lady Eagles softball team kept the Kamiak Knights scoreless on Wednesday, April 17, in a 6-0 home game.

“I had four people hit doubles in that game, including Ronnie Ladines, Lynsey Amundson and Hayley Fields. Really our senior group is leading us,” said head coach Dan Eng.

Starting pitcher Ronnie Ladines returned after a finger injury kept her off the field, in the April 15 game against Lynnwood.

“She pitched all seven innings in the [Lynnwood] game,” said Eng. “Hayley pitched the first four innings of the game against Kamiak and Ronnie came in and closed. She is starting to get her stamina back, and she has been cleared by the doctor to go full. One thing I noticed the first time I put her back, compared to the other nine games that we played, the team came together and settled down because they are used to her.”

The Lady Eagles are hoping that the second half of the season will bring them some in-league wins to boost them up to the district playoffs in mid-May.

“Currently we are 9-2, and with eight games left that is almost half a season,” said Eng. “Most of those are conference games and we are only 4-2  in league. The top four schools go to districts and that’s what our goal was all year — to try to finish in the top four and make it to districts.”

Arlington will play at Jackson on Wednesday, April 24, in a rain-out makeup at 4 p.m.
