Darrington wrestlers took down Concrete in one of the biggest wins in recent memory for the program.
We havent won against them in a dual meet in I dont know how long, said athletic director Kim Wardwell.
Darrington benefited from an incredible performance from heavyweight Scott Regelbrugge. Regelbrugge, needing a pin, flipped his opponent midway through the third round to push Darrington over the top for the win.
Winning for Darrington were Johnny Loughnan at 119, Cody Bryson at 130, Joe Dolph at 145, and Rich Groh at 160. Bryson pinned his opponent 15 seconds into the first round and Dolph won by technical fall 18-2.
Paden Newberry and Conner Rounds also won for the Loggers, both by pins.
The kids wrestled great, said coach Chad Monteith, they appear to be in good shape. We didnt make many mistakes. Even the kids that didnt win for us didnt give up pins. They held on and fought through the whole match. Thats what did it for us.
