The Darrington boys baseball team swept La Conner right out of the park in their April 30 meeting.
Darrington won the first game 14-0 behind the exceptional pitching of Brennan Vincent. Vincent flirted with a perfect game and ended the night with a no-hitter after one batter reached base on an error in the fifth inning. Vincent managed to strike out 8 La Conner hitters on his way to the no-hitter.
In game two, Mark Jones pitched well for the home side, giving up only two unearned runs and four hits total. Jones also struck out eight batters.
The offense for Darrington came from the entire lineup as eight players finished with at least one hit in both games. All nine Darrington regulars reached base safely in both games with Andy Olsons 5-5 effort leading the way. Olson scored five times in the two games and drove in four runs.
Brennan Vincent supported his own cause at the plate by finishing the series 3-7 with two doubles and five RBI. Justin ODell also chipped in with a 3-4 effort including a double and three RBI.
