The Lakewood Youth Football Association presented a check for $1,450 to Vicci Hilty, right, from the Snohomish County Center for Battered Women. Players on the Lakewood youth teams hold a fundraising car wash and donate half their proceeds to local charity. Last years recipient of the award Karl Bielser received an honorary No. 8 Cougar jersey after the money raised allowed him to have a heart transplant. President Bill Eddy and Fund Raising Coordinator Brenda Berry gave the presentation after the midget Cougars 7-0 victory over Oak Harbor on Saturday Oct. 13.
