Eight-year-old Aspen Carbahal, a student at the Northwest School for the Hearing Impaired, has been selected to sign the national anthem for the Seattle Seahawks. Carbahal will attend the Aug. 30 game between the Seahawks and the Oakland Raiders, where she will participate in the opening ceremonies on the field itself.
Carbahal was selected by her teachers as an excellent candidate for the position and recommended to the Seahawks. She was chosen by the team and informed of their decision by phone.
Im a fan of the team, said Carbahal. I am excited to meet Shawn Alexander.
Carbahal will attend the game with her family and get a chance to meet many of her favorite players.
