The seventh-grade Arlington AAU basketball team won the championship at Western Washington University MLK tournament. Pictured, front row from left, Shawn Adams, Kaleb Bryson and Adland Benson. Back row, Nate Lewis, Noah Jones, Coach Bud Brummel, Bradey Brummel and Tevin Barraza. The boys won their first three games by more than 20 points against Anacortes, Ferndale and Stanwood. The championship game Jan. 18 against the Bellingham Regulators was a tight battle. The game was tied with 30 seconds to go. A full-court press forced the Regulators to turn the ball over. The Eagles got the ball at their end of the court and pulled ahead, hanging on to win 53-48.
