Arlington seniors Kyra Prause and Sheryl Scheppele went out on a strong note as the Eagle girls were eliminated from the district tournament in a 49-45 loss to Jackson Feb. 21 at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.
Wesco South competition has not been kind to the Arlington girls. As the No. 2 team out of Wesco North, Arlington hosted their tournament opening game Feb. 18 where they were knocked into the elimination bracket by a 56-53 loss to Kamiak.
A late 17-2 spurt by Kamiak cost Arlington the game.
But Prause and Scheppele had 22 and 21 points in their two playoff games, with all of Scheppele’s points coming from three-point range.
Arlington returns a loaded junior class, led by junior guard Quinn Kesselring. She led Arlington through the district tournament with 31 points.
Arlington will return another five juniors who saw varsity time this season including posts Ginny Wilson, Tiffany Daggett and Alisha Murrin.
