9 from MG sign to play sports in college

MARYSVILLE – Nine Marysville Getchell students participated in MG College Signing Night Thursday.

“Each athlete had their own table decorated with ‘goods’ from where they will be going next year,” said Jaci Legore-Hodgins, one of the MG coaches.

Two players from MG’s hot softball team announced their college choices. Shannon Patton will play for Columbia International, and Hanna Kranz for Shoreline Community College.

From the boys soccer team Evan Sprague will play for Arizona Christian and from the girls team Kaitlynn Knocke will play for Seattle Pacific University.

In track, Kiarra Green will run for Central Washington University.

The Wildcats also will get Mejinta Adams from the football team.

Lul William plans to play locally for Everett Community College in basketball.

Shelby Sawyer will play for Willamette University in Oregon in lacrosse.

Colby Watts committed to the military, Air Force branch. He played football and baseball for MG all four years.
