All-WESCO North standouts include 2 local coaches

Kyle Suits, coach of of Marysville Getchell’s soccer team, and Jaci LeGore-Hodgins, coach of the MG-Marysville Pilchuck girls swim team, won Coach of the Year honors in their respective sports in the WESCO 3A North selections.

Suits led MG to the state playoffs for the first time in the school’s history. Named to the first team as a forward as senior Oshinaye Taylor off his team. Other Chargers on the first team were: junior goalie Kaitlynn Knocke, senior defender Megan McReynolds and senior midfielder Hayli Huhta.

LeGore-Hodgins had three girls go to state, including two divers and junior Bindi Pedersen, who was second in state in the 200 individual medley.

Arlington dominated the football selections locally, with junior Anthony Whitis name the first-team quarterback. Campbell Hudson made the first team both as a receiver and defensive back. Michael Van Beek, another senior, also was a first-team pick for the offensive and defensive lines.

Senior Payton Bastien was an all-league first teamer at linebacker and made the second team as an offensive lineman. Returner Cade Younger was the first team returner.

AHS also dominated the cross country selections, with six making the first or second teams.
