ARLINGTON – After a couple of winning seasons Coach Joe Marsh’s girls basketball team fell to 6-16 last year.

He expects to be much improved this season. The Arlington girls have a mix of experience and youth.

Peyton Brown, who averaged 13 points a game last year, is returning for her senior year. The 5-foot-8 guard recently signed to play basketball at Central Washington University. Marsh calls her one of the best shooters in the state. The coach returns some good height from last year’s varsity: Junior Alaina Duskin is 5-10 as is senior Kelsey Mellick while senior Hannah Carlson is 5-11. Center Tahlia Miears is 6-2.

Also back is 5-4 guard Sierra Scheppele, a sophomore, and junior forward Mollie Janousek.

The Eagles open their season Nov. 25 at the jamboree in Sedro-Woolley.
