Lemoi scores 3 goals for Lakewood; Cougars stand out at their own track invitational

After being tied 2-2 at the break, the Cougars rallied in the second half to beat Ferndale 5-2 in 2A action Monday. Nathan Lemoi scored three goals, Hong Yi-Wu had a goal and an assist and Enzo Sirigu added one goal.

Tyler Rahberger and Mamudou Fofana each had an assist for the Cougars. Goalie Fofana had 13 saves.

Blaine beat the Cougar 4-3 Monday.

Top finishers for the Cougar boys: Michai Harris won the 100 meters in 10.82 seconds; Kaelin Nelson seventh in the 200; Jordan Gonzales third in the 400; junior Alex Jensen second in the 800; Harris, Gonzalez, Spencer Fleming and Kaelin Nelson won the 4 by 100 relay in 44.13 seconds; Tavion Henderson, Mason Toponce, Ephraim Wright and Sean Phillips were fourth in the 4 by 200 relay; Daniel Crawford, Gonzales, Jensen and Fleming won the 4 by 400 in 3:35.99; sophomore Keegan Bach was second in the shot put with a toss of 50 feet; William Davis was fifth in the discus; sophomore Gage Weizel was eighth in the javelin; Zachery Anderson was third in the high jump; and sophomore Kaedyn Bustad was seventh in the pole vault.

Top finishers for the Lakewood girls: freshman Jasmine Graham, seventh, 100; Graham, fourth, 200; Madison Howe, seventh, 3200; freshman Stacy Chernomor, seventh, 100 hurdles; in the 4 by 100 relay Graham, Alexis Allen, Stella Seth and Hannah Primrose were third; junior Bailey Hammond was fifth in the shot; she also was fifth in the discus; junior Stephanie Woods was fifth in the javelin; Graham was eighth in the high jump; sophomore Alexis Allen was third in the long jump; and she was fifth in the triple jump.
