MARYSVILLE – The Marysville Getchell girls turned the ball over too many times, making it easy for North Creek Monday night.

The visitors ran away with a 76-24 victory.

In other games, Lakewood won at Oak Harbor 38-24 and Arlington lost at home to Woodinville 73-50.

Even though North Creek’s team has no seniors its girls have much more experience playing basketball. After turnovers it would push the ball upcourt quickly and toss up 3-pointers, many of which went in.

The visitors also had a distinct height advantage with five players over 5-foot-1o. The Chargers have one 6-footer and only two seniors.

Adding to the woes of MG was North Creek’s full-court press, which it continued to use despite its big lead.

Even worse, MG’s high scorer at halftime with five points, junior guard Sydney Norton, left the game with an injury in the third quarter.

A bright spot for the Chargers in the third quarter came from Pilani Tupou off the bench.
