Not the voice we need

As a former commissioner on the board at Cascade Valley Hospital for many years I hope you will join me and many others to re-elect Margo Powell to the Board of Commissioner at Cascade Valley Hospital.

The board, who all volunteer their time, represents a cross section of the community from all walks of life. The 5 member board was never intended to be a platform for a physician to further his/her own cause.

Having worked on the board with Margo for several years I know her to be hardworking, dedicated, involved and committed to our community. She brings to the board a voice from the Darrington area which has been a part of the hospital district since its inception in 1964. The communities of Trafton, Oso, Whitehorse and Darrington have always been valued supporters of our hospital and clinics.

To set the record straight, Cascade Valley Hospital is on the right track. Primary care physicians and specialists continue to join our staff. Publicly posted patient outcomes and patient satisfaction scores are competitive and available to anyone for review. The board has always tried to be very conservative spending your tax dollars. The new hospital building will open early this winter, on time and under budget. Margo has been a part of these accomplishments. She has no personal agenda other than to continue to serve our community.

When you mark your ballot please take a minute to consider who you want on the hospital board representing you. Margo Powell, a hard working small business owner like a lot of us who just wants to give back to her community as she has done for many years or a physician who I believe has a more personal agenda.
