ARLINGTON The progress of the Lady Eagles soccer team cannot be seen in their win-loss column and their Oct. 10-12 Wesco North league matches are a prime example of that.
They recorded two ties a 0-0 deadlock Tuesday, Oct. 10, against Everett and a 1-1 double-overtime thriller against Stanwood Thursday, Oct. 12.
The second game in 48 hours was not your average high school soccer game as a small, yet proud and vocal section of the marching band cheered and banged on their drums as the Lady Eagles battled the visiting Lady Spartans to a 1-1 tie.

Coach Nathan Davis was given a yellow warning card for arguing with the referee about five minutes later and used the opportunity to shout out defensive arrangements.
Davis said afterward that it was a strategic move on his part due to the fact that there are no timeouts allowed in soccer.
We had lost our focus at that point, Davis said afterward with a smile. It was sort of a strategic thing.
Junior goalkeeper Andrea Parlin made some acrobatic and athletic saves to assist her team in the low-scoring affair.
Junior forward Shaylee Markley knotted the score at 1-all with about 15 minutes remaining in regulation.
Sophomore midfielder Kristen Allen made a great header that saved the potential game-winning goal from being scored shortly into the first five-minute sudden death overtime.
Davis said the team considered the tie a confidence builder.
The girls thought it was awesome. We lost 4-0 to these guys (Stanwood) the first time we played them, so I am really proud of them. Nicole Pederson did an outstanding job as well as Sam Welch. I am really pleased with the way the girls shut down Lauren Hansen who is headed to Utah State on a soccer scholarship.
Forty-eight hours earlier saw the Eagles battle to a scoreless tie against the Lady Seagulls of Everett.
Everett improved to 6-3-3 in league play and overall and the visiting Lady Eagles went to 2-7-2.
