Firefighters rally for commercial fire

BRYANT — Arlington Fire Department and regional fire districts 19 (Silvana), 21 (Arlington Heights) and 25 (Oso), joined North County Regional Fire Authority (Bryant and Warm Beach) in responding to a large commercial fire in the 2400 block of 268 St. NW near the Sunday Lake area north of Arlington, according to NCFA Battalion Chief Christian Davis.

The fire broke out in the late hours on June 2 and the first unit on scene reported a commercial structure “heavily involved.”

A second and third alarm requested additional units.

Firefighters focused on protecting exposures to the shop’s office and storage areas, Davis said.

More than 60 firefighters, six engines, 14 tenders, three medic units and eight command/support units, including North County Regional Fire Authority, Snohomish County Fire Districts 15, 17, 19, 21, 25, Conway, Lake McMurray, Camano Island, Stanwood, Marysville and Arlington Fire departments assisted in responding to the incident.

“The firefighters worked tirelessly in fighting the big blaze for over 4 hours and were able to protect the office structure and contain the fire to the three buildings that where involved,” Davis said.

The total loss estimated at this time is $2.2 million and the cause is being investigated by the Snohomish County Fire Marshals Office and Federal Authorities.
