Mary Jane Durand, 77, of Snohomish, Wash., passed away peacefully at her home on Jan. 16, 2007, after a 12-year battle with cancer.
She was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Schenectady, N.Y., and moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, with her parents and two sisters in 1938.
In Alaska, Mary met and married Michael James Durnad, of St. Paul, Minn., eventually settling in Snohomish. She was well known in the community and loved by all who met her. Mary will be missed by her devoted husband; five children; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Messiah Lutheran Church, Marysville, Wash.
