ARLINGTON — Detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at the 8100 block of Wade Road in Arlington on Thursday, Feb. 13, and discovered human remains buried under a concrete slab on the property. The verification that the remains located were human was corroborated by an anthropologist with the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Detectives believe the remains are that of a man whom friends and family have not heard from since 2004, and that the death is suspicious. Investigators identified a suspect, a 48-year-old woman, who has been booked into the Snohomish County Jail for second-degree murder. The victim is believed to be the woman’s husband; however, identification of the remains, as well as the cause and manner of the victim’s death, are pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
In addition to the remains, detectives also discovered what appeared to be a chop-shop operation at that location. A stolen pickup was recovered by the Snohomish County Auto Theft Task Force, and detectives collected other evidence from the property for examination.
