New scoreboard
A scoreboard is needed at Marysville-Pilchuck High School for the swim team. The swimming facility at the school hosts many large swim meets and club events and currently only has a single-lane scoreboard. A new scoreboard will improve both the spectators view and the swimmers experience. A committee headed by Jan Coleman formed to address the need and currently the group is fundraising and taking donations. A new scoreboard will cost $20,000. Different levels of sponsorship are available for different size advertisements. Interested in helping? Contact Randy LeValley at 425-923-8399 or 360-657-2903.

One-time Eagle jumper competes in NCAA indoor track championship
On March 3, exactly one year after undergoing knee surgery, junior Husky pole vaulter and former Arlington track standout McKane Lee set a personal record on the pole vault to qualify for NCAA indoor track championship with a 17 foot, 9 inch jump.
To become eligible for the indoor national championship for the pole vault, athletes must land one of the 16 best jumps that season. Though ranked early on with the nations eighth jump, Lee fell to 17th place shortly before a last-chance qualifying competition. It was there he set and exceeded a personal best.
On the last-chance qualifying meet I PRd at 165 and then the bar went up to 179 which Id never cleared before, where I got fifth-place seed in the nation, Lee said.
At the NCAA championship the weekend of March 10, Lee failed to clear any of his jumps. As a sophomore for Arlington, Lee broke the all-time state record for jumps by sophomores with a 159 leap in 2001. The next year, when the Eagles bumped up to Class 4A competition, Lee placed second at state in the pole vault.
