SNOHOMISH COUNTY — A 27-year veteran of fire service will soon be instructing a training program for North County Regional Fire Authority staff.
Fire Chief Rick Lasky of the Lewisville (Texas) Fire Department will be speaking to staff at Warm Beach Camp and Conference Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 29.
Lasky has received numerous honors, including Innovator of the Year from the International Society of Fire Service Instructors in 1996 for his part in developing the Saving Our Own program.
That program was designed to teach firefighters to save themselves in difficult situations, said Christian Davis, public information officer and battalion chief of operations for the fire authority.
“We are very excited to offer this rare training opportunity to our personnel as well as many others that have signed up to attend our program,” said Fire Chief Dale Fulfs, adding that more than 220 people have signed up for the program. “This is just another way we keep our people educated on ways of better delivering our services.”
