ARLINGTON — Detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office are seeking assistance from the public to identify a man suspected of burglarizing an Arlington home while the occupants were sleeping.

ARLINGTON — One of the last single-lane bridges on a Washington state highway became history on Tuesday, May 6. That’s when a new two-lane, 36-foot-wide bridge across Pilchuck Creek on State Route 9 opened north of Arlington. The new bridge, on a new alignment, reduces sharp curves at both ends.

DARRINGTON — The Washington State Department of Transportation recognized the need for another route in and out of Darrington, so after five weeks of slide detours that added multiple hours and hundreds of miles to motorists’ commutes, WSDOT opened the Seattle City Light Access Road to local and emergency traffic starting at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, to bypass the section of State Route 530 still blocked by the slide.
