ARLINGTON — Sound Salmon Solutions is partnering with the city of Arlington, the Stillaguamish Tribe, Banksavers, the Pilchuck Audubon Society, the Arlington Arts Council, Washington State University Extension’s Puget Sound Forest Stewardship, and the citizens of Arlington to present “Arlington Arbor Month.”
ARLINGTON — Local high school students can win one of two $1,000 prizes in the “Four-Way Test Speech Contest” through Rotary District 5050. Students in grades 8-12 living in Arlington, Lakewood or Darrington can apply under the Rotary Club of Arlington. Public, private, home-schooled and exchange students are encouraged to participate.
ARLINGTON — The boards of commissioners of three public hospitals in Snohomish and Skagit counties are conducting community forums to hear from the public what they think about proposals to affiliate with a larger health care system.

As of 1:30 p.m. on March 23, the day of its fourth annual “Paint the Town Purple” event, the Arlington Relay For Life had recruited 67 teams of 398 participants and raised $46,650 to support the American Cancer Society.
While the totals are still being counted up, organizers of the 13th annual Kent Prairie Elementary PTA Kiddie Carnival on March 22 have estimated that its silent auction alone has raised at least $3,200.
The Arlington girls softball team topped Glacier Peak at home with an 11-0 win on Friday, March 22.

Elizabeth Scott, R-Monroe, will host a one-hour telephone town hall with constituents on Wednesday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m. Residents of the 39th District — which includes Marysville, Arlington and Darrington — are invited to call and ask questions of their state representative.
