UPDATE | Suspected Arlington sniper likely shot by...

ARLINGTON — The suspected sniper in a wooded Arlington neighborhood shooting on Sunday, Sept. 2, was likely shot himself by a member of the SWAT team that responded, according to Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Shari Ireton, but the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office is nonetheless conducting an autopsy on Tuesday, Sept. 4, to officially determine how the man died.

Health District warns against West Nile virus

West Nile virus has not yet shown up in Snohomish County this year, according to the Snohomish Health District, but it was found recently in mosquito samples in Yakima and Franklin counties, and has caused 14 deaths and more than 1,100 illnesses reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention elsewhere in the nation this summer.
