SMOKEY POINT — The Everett Clinic is set to open a new facility in Smokey Point on Thursday, Aug. 23. The ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 9 a.m. that day, and an open house is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. The facility is 60,000 square feet and is the largest location outside of the Everett Clinic’s main campus.
ARLINGTON — The Stillaguamish Senior Center is hosting a barbecue at Kayak Point Park on Friday, Aug. 24, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
August is a deadly month on Washington’s roadways, according to the Fatality Analysis Reporting System. From 2006-10, on average, more impaired driving deaths occurred in August than any other month. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue (SAR) Air Unit, SnoHawk, is currently searching the Stillaguamish River for two overdue rafters. The rafters, one male and one female both reportedly in their 20s, put in at the Cicero Bridge late Thursday. They were last seen at approximately 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
