A new blues happening is just getting started in Arlington, reports the ol’ blues harpist, Jeff Nicely. Presented by Nicely, in collaboration with Sean Denton of the Gryffyn Band and the owners of the Mirkwood & Shire Cafe, there will be live music at the Mirkwood every Friday. “We’d love to have you be a part of the fun,” Nicely said. Nicely is getting together with his old buddy, Randy Norris to play as The Norris & Nicely Funky Acoustic Blues Duo on Friday, Dec. 26. Nicely often plays a few tunes with the Gryffyn Band, which is scheduled for Dec. 19.
ARLINGTON — With an ongoing art exhibit at the Arlington Library provided by the Arlington Arts Council and several permanent art installations at the Marysville Library, the question is, what is it about art at libraries?
The question was posed by Sno-Isle Libraries Director Jonalyn Woolf-Ivory at a reception for artists at the Marysville Library Dec. 11, honoring six artists who created new works for the library and the Gellerson family whose bequest helped pay for the art along with the Friends of the Marysville Library.
