ARLINGTON Halloween fell on a Tuesday this year, but that didnt stop the city of Arlington from celebrating its Hometown Halloween Oct. 28, to give community members a full Saturday to celebrate the occasion in the downtown district.
MARYSVILLE Residents near the new Lakewood Crossing shopping center are livid over traffic in the northern part of town and are demanding changes to nearby residential streets swamped with cars during the weekend shopping rush. Many say that traffic will not let them out of their neighborhoods during peak shopping times.

ARLINGTON The city of Arlington met with its merchants and other community members Oct. 24, to review the progress of the North Olympic Avenue Reconstruction Project to date, as well as to preview the steps still to come in the process.

MARYSVILLE A labor union has dropped a lawsuit against a Wal-Mart store planned for Arlington, meaning the 204,000-square-foot supercenter could be open the first quarter of next year. Another store planned for Marysville has cleared legal obstacles and should open about the same time, according to company spokeswoman Jennifer Holder.

ARLINGTON Arlington High Schools DECA and Marketing students went up against a dozen other schools, represented by more than 800 students, at the Area One DECA competition Jan. 22 at Monroe High School, and scored first-place wins in the categories of apparel and marketing management, and fashion promotion planning.

DARRINGTON A former reporter for The Arlington Times and current member of the Darrington School Board of Directors, Kay Brooks, age 36, did not wake up Sunday morning Jan. 28 when her brother Leo Shuler tried to awaken her in their hotel room in Tacoma, after attending a George Strait concert at Tacoma Dome Saturday night.
