ARLINGTON — Two 19-year-old entrepreneurs will be putting their money where their mouths are to support this year’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Arlington.

Craig Davis and Conner Cave are the co-owners of the Arlington-based Vitalire Apparel, a clothing brand that does its business online, and they’re kicking off the month of May by offering their customers a couple of chances to pitch in for the Relay for Life, which takes place from June 4-5 in Arlington this year.

Vitalire will be donating 100 percent of the company’s profits from sales made between May 2-7 to the Relay for Life, and will also be donating all sales profits to Relay from the limited edition T-shirts that the company is selling for $10 apiece.

“The profits from all our sales will be going to Relay during that first week of May, but the profits from our sales of those T-shirts will be going to Relay all year long,” Davis said. “This is an ongoing thing for us.”

According to Davis, Vitalire’s support of Relay is inspired less by any specific instances of cancer impacting his or Cave’s lives, and is motivated more by their awareness of how cancer has touched everyone’s lives.

“We just thought it was a great opportunity,” Davis said. “Of course, we’re family friends with coach Nick Brown and his wife, and she was dealing with cancer last year, which was a huge deal in the community.”

Davis was quick to credit Gorilla screen printing and SanMar blank apparel with providing their goods and services at a discount for this cause, which allowed Vitalire to conduct this campaign.

“We want to be recognized not only for high-quality products, but also for a positive impact on both people and planet,” Davis said. “This means using environmentally friendly inks in all of our printing, doing all of our printing right here in the Pacific Northwest and giving back to the community through events such as the Relay for Life. We care about more than just profit margins.”
