Autumnwood Dental opens in Arlington

ARLINGTON — The newly opened Autumnwood Dental Clinic in downtown Arlington didn’t let the day’s gray skies and a light drizzle keep them from celebrating a “Hawaiian Christmas” grand opening on Dec. 11.

Dr. Ardi Pribadi enjoyed inviting community members to his open house, catered by Pai’s Food Truck, and he wants them to know that he sees his dental practice as an extension of his commitments to both the community and to his adopted country.

“I’ve always wanted to be a dentist, ever since I can remember,” Pribadi said. “Going to the dentist was my first experience with a doctor that wasn’t painful. When I was seven years old, I had a dentist who took out one of my teeth and I looked up to him. I’ve been working toward this career ever since then.”

Pribadi’s commitment to providing pleasant dental care for his patients led him to make another commitment, this time to the United States. An immigrant, Pribadi spent his first year after graduating in 2005 doing his residency at a veterans’ hospital and what he saw inspired him to join the U.S. Air Force for the next four years.

“These people had given their lives, their limbs, their sanity and everything else they had for their country,” Pribadi said. “As an immigrant, I’d reaped the benefits of the freedom that they’d fought for but I hadn’t paid my dues.”

Pribadi kept up his practice as a dentist during his time in the Air Force, and not only does he continue to serve in the Air Force Reserves today, but he also hopes to use his civilian practice to care for fellow veterans in the community.

“We’ve got a sizable military population in the community, thanks in part to Naval Station Everett,” Pribadi said. “I know the sacrifices they’ve made, and I want to extend my gratitude, so they’ll get 15 percent off our services for life.”

Pribadi assured his civilian patients that he’s just as committed to giving them quality dental care.

“We treat everyone like they’re our friends,” Pribadi said. “We’re a small-town dental practice with a big-time office. We’ve got brand-new state-of-the-art high-tech equipment that other dental practices don’t have. We have a digital x-ray machine and a denturist on staff. We’re very reasonable about our costs.”
