ARLINGTON — While the Arlington-Smokey Point Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours is a regular event on the third Thursday of every month, the Aug. 21 meeting offers a few new features.

“Not all of our businesses have the space to host Business After Hours meetings of their own, so for those folks, we occasionally provide space for as many as half a dozen businesses in a single space,” event organizer Michele Wiley said.

The Gazebo at Legion Park in downtown Arlington will host what Wiley called the “co-op mini-trade show” from 5:30-7 p.m., providing cover for possible rain.

Among the businesses slated to be hosted by the chamber are Classic Garage Door Services, the School Box, About the Bow, the Sno-Isle Libraries and Sound Publishing.

“The guy who runs Classic Garage Door Services does it out of his truck, so obviously he doesn’t have the office space to host a Business After Hours,” Wiley said. “And About the Bow is a new business, run by a husband and wife, that offers mountain loop tourism opportunities.”

Wiley encouraged attendees to bring business cards to network, and promised them a tour of the Depot on Centennial Trail, where the chamber’s offices are now located.

“At the Depot, you’ll find visitor information, business directories and even forms for new memberships,” Wiley said. “We can provide businesses with more visibility through not only Business After Hours, but also our monthly luncheons and listings in our online newsletters. It gets more eyeballs on your businesses’ names and contact information.”
