MARYSVILLE — An Arlington plant recently donated nearly $2,000 in cash, food and gift cards to the Marysville Community Food Bank.

Employees from HCI Steel Building Systems and BlueScope Buildings North America delivered the $1,940 in donations on Friday, Dec. 18.

The employees surpassed their goal of raising a minimum of $1,000 in donations, said Melanie Pino, customer service representative for HCI.

“Early in the drive an interdepartmental competition was established to see who could collect the most,” Pino said in a release. “By the end of the drive, total donations had almost doubled the original goal.”

Pino said that there was a line of residents waiting for their donations when they arrived at the food bank. She said that many employees said that they were happy to help those in need in the community.

HCI Steel Building Systems — based in Arlington — is a division of BlueScope Buildings North America.
