40 days for life

Since Sept. 26, I have been involved in the nationwide 40 Days for Life campaign at the Everett Planned Parenthood, lead by Michelle McIntyre. The purpose of 40 Days for Life is to end the scourge of abortion, especially at Planned Parenthood. Further, we seek to intercede before a woman makes a decision to terminate a pregnancy.

We pray, fast, and distribute educational literature to women and men who are facing a crisis pregnancy in their lives. We reach out and inform people there are options to an unplanned pregnancy that do not involve abortion Pregnancy Aid, Pregnancy Resource Center, Catholic Community Services and the adoption option.
My walk and vigil on Sunday, Oct. 28 caused me to prayerfully reflect on why I was there. I am compelled to speak out and tell of the deaths of our Holy Innocents. They are our children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, who had died because of an abortion decision. Most Planned Parenthood abortions take place on Saturday.
I prayed that the Holy Spirit surrounds every abortion facility including Everett, Marysville, Olympia, Seattle, Tacoma, Wash., and that the power of the Holy Spirit touches the lives of each person who enters the facility for an abortion. I prayed for the staff of Planned Parenthood that they receive a change of heart and support not only the person involved in a crisis pregnancy, but also for the unborn.
Two simple songs speak to the occasion, Jesus loves the little children all the children of the world and Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. Little girls and little boys they are weak, but He is strong.
We have been aborting our children for nearly 35 years. Yet there is a hunger for the truth of abortion. Technicians and doctors use ultrasound technology to locate the fetus. The women do not see this amazing image of the child within the womb.
David Bereit, 40 Days for Life National Director, visited with several prayer warriors on Saturday, Nov. 2, outside the Everett Planned Parenthood. Following a time of prayer he said, since 40 Days for Life began, more than 300 women nationally have reversed their decision to abort and instead carry their baby to term.
In an audio link from David to leaders of Washington State 40 Days for Life, David said, North Dakota has one remaining abortion center. Pro-life leaders in N. Dakota are leading the way to be the first abortion-free state. South Carolina has three abortion facilities; there were eleven. Eighty-nine cities in 33 states are now involved in this powerful, prayerful, respectful effort, as we see the beginning of the end of abortion across America. Our nation is at a turning point.
Pray to end abortion. Please visit the 40 Days for Life web site at www.40daysforlife.com/everett or www.40daysforlife.com.
