Food drive

Saturday, May 12, was the annual Letter Carrier Food Drive. And once again it was a big success for the Arlington Community Food Bank. Donations from the community totaled 15, 378 pounds of assorted food items.

Our thanks go out to this great community of ours for their generous support. A special thank you to all the carriers and the Boy Scouts who collected the food items that day. And I would also like to thank the many food bank volunteers, who stock our shelves, hand food out to our clients and to our truck drivers, who drive once a week to Everett and Mt. Vernon to pick up food.
This food drive takes us through the summer months when there are no school meals available for those children in need. Through the communitys generous support of all the various drives in our area, we are able to help those in need.
Thank you to all who continue to support our local effort.
