No on House Bill 3200

I am asking Rep. Rick Larsen and our two senators to not support House Bill 3200 or its Senate equivalents.

This kind of legislation is not valid to begin with because the federal government does not really have the right to be involved in healthcare (Medicare not withstanding) because this is beyond the Constitutional limits. The Constitution needs to be taken seriously. Besides this the size alone of H.B. 3200 invalidates it. Even a team can’t fully read and digest things of this size. Just the reading of small portions has turned up some questionable things. One can argue that H.B. 3200 is a Pandora’s Box full of bad things and designed by sadists. It is not prudent to support such a bill.

It is not going to do any good to repeat, “The status quo is unacceptable” or “healthcare reform needs to happen.” Although reform is needed, it must be done with great care, in the way that Edmund Burke advocated.

Let’s improve the system that already exists by doing some tort reform and allowing state to state competition of insurance companies. We also need to stop illegal aliens from being a burden on our system. We need vigilance.
