As the current cross country season for Arlington High School comes to a close, we would like to express our appreciation and respect for the coaches of the team. As parents, we have been involved with the cross-country team for the past six years. Both of our daughters have run for the team. The coaches instill a sense of camaraderie, dedication, fun and self-discipline that gives the students the drive to run farther than they ever thought they could and the motivation to continue pushing themselves. Weve seen these attributes spill into other areas of our daughters lives, such as academics, tennis, track and helping others.
The headlines shout the real story. Sony leads solar-cell production; Toyota number one in world car sales; environmentally based new jobs in Germany top 170,000; thousands of Chinese produced CFLs saving money for American households; Germany leading the world in wind power production; California takes strong action to cut carbon dioxide emission.
For the past 12 years Arlington High School DECA has been adopting families to help provide a Christmas for them. This year has been yet another successful year. You might have seen a DECA member standing outside your local grocery stores collecting canned goods and money.
Its really interesting to see what government says and what it really does. Believe it or not, the two arent always the same. Lets forget, for the moment, things at the federal level. Instead lets concentrate on the local scene.
It was with great interest that I read your 25 years ago 1983 entry in the Jan. 16 edition of The Globe. I would like to share the rest of the story.
I recently found myself out of work. The falling real-estate market has caused the construction company I work(ed) for to discontinue building until the market demand increases.
I am writing to give your some information regarding our club, Old Bags Of Arlington.
On behalf of the Marysville Community Food Bank, I want to thank all those caring and generous people in the Marysville area who contributed so generously to meet out needs for food boxes during the holiday season.
Many times we take for granted those protecting us and Id like to take the opportunity to thank several people in the Snohomish County Sheriffs office for their service and the generosity they have and continue to show all of us. First, Id like to thank Sheriff Rick Bart for all the years of dedicated service hes provided the citizens of our County.
So, Hillary has made her stand on her vote to go to war, and will dig in her heels. And it amounts to the same old, sad old story of all the senators who voted yes with her: they relied on the president, and he misled them.
Its infectious
Hi, My name is Bev Smith. I am a single, widowed mother with two young sons to raise yet, out of five. Dan and Dave are 17 and 13 now. They lost their father three years ago this February, to cancer.
The Old Bags of Arlington have been around for over 20 years. All though we do have a lot of fun, we also love helping others. You all know we do baskets for the holidays but we also give to the kids baseball teams, Girls State, Toys for Kids and various other needs in the community.
