On behalf of the Arlington Kiwanis, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Kiwanis Fourth of July Scholarship Auction this year.
Exactly what would you fine folks who are so quick to judge have the Corrections Department do? You yelled when they let them go and you yell when they try to keep them in. Make up your minds and quit yelling.
You may have seen recent TV or newspaper stories regarding a series of odor complaints in the Marysville area. As a business in the North Sound since 2004, Cedar Grove takes pride in being a good North Sound neighbor and business. I want to let you know that we take this issue very seriously.
On behalf of the Marysville Strawberry Festival, I would like to thank all of our sponsors, volunteers and everyone that attended for making “Wish Upon a Berry” a huge success. Without the support of the community the festival wouldn’t be what it is today. So, thank you.
North County Firefighters currently have the privilege of providing emergency medical services to the residents of North County Regional Fire Authority. Some of the communities who we serve are Bryant, Freeborn, Warm Beach, Kayak, Lake Ketchum, Sunday Lake, Lake Armstrong, Kackman, Mckee’s Beach and Grandview just to list a few. This service continually has to expand to help meet the demand due to population growth.
The Arlington Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary would like to thank all the kids who endured the heat and participated in the 2008 Arlington Kiddies Parade. It’s fun to see the creativity that kids and parents put into it and making this event so special. Our gratitude to those who showed up to watch the event, a parade isn’t complete without a crowd to cheer you on.
Absolutely unfair is the sentence that non-violent “3-Strikers” are serving in prison after harming no one. There is no equal justice under this law. We have those spending their entire lives in expensive prisons who do not deserve this harsh punishment given the heinous crimes those who really do deserve it commit.
The rising gas prices, the failing economy. When will the media learn? In my opinion it is not that we are in a bad economy. No, I believe that the media is much at fault for our nation’s current rising costs and foreclosures.
I’ve been a resident of Marysville for nine years and every year around July 4 they put up fireworks stands and sell them and how many kids are going to have their hands blown off or faces disfigured. I had a confrontation in the parking lot of Haggen ’s when I saw them unloading boxes of fireworks. I confronted the man who then called police. I waited for the police to come and he warned me if I harass anyone else I’ll go to jail.
